TA Having Little Power Trip After Professor Allows Him to Correct All Midterms
Touting his meticulous work culture and what he likes to call his “edge for success”, NYU TA Mark McGuire was seen having a little power trip Friday after his professor in charge told him he had to correct all the midterms by himself.
“I’ve always believed hard work doesn’t go unnoticed,” said McGuire, adding that he was sorry for his fellow TAs, but that there was a reason why the professor only trusted him to perform such vital tasks. “He clearly knows I am the most qualified person at his disposal. I mean why else would he let the other TAs have a fun, relaxed weekend full of joy and free of responsibilities, while I slave away correcting 200 Econ midterms? I don’t want to seem arrogant, but I’m clearly his favorite.”
When asked about the alleged favoritism, Professor Thomas Abbot, Mr McGuire’s superior, told reporters that Mr Mcguire was always “kind of an asshole”, and that he had to find a way to keep Mr McGuire from coming to the faculty party that was happening this weekend.
“I’m throwing a party at my New York penthouse this weekend, and I felt that Mark’s asshole vibes were going to ruin it,” said Prof Thomas, adding that all of his coworkers and TAs except for Mr McGuire had been invited. “He would’ve just been such a pain in the ass. You know, he would’ve just been walking around telling everyone about his recent findings on Cournot’s Model. I honestly did not want to deal with that.”
